Hakuna Matata... Hada Hwa El Bahreez Al Falsafeez :oD

Hakuna Matata! What a wonderful phrase
Hakuna Matata! Ain’t no passing craze
It means no worries for the rest of your days
It’s our problem-free philosophy....

This song is playing in my mind today... you know I hate it when this happens, especially when I don't know the lyrics of the song :oS...

Okay, I was reading this website and I came across this (the General People's Committee of Security is warning owners of hotels, shops, cafes, restaurants...etc, of showing any form of new year celebration) What do you think!!?

Well I am not saying that we should celebrate the new year or Christmas or whatever, but there are lots of Christians in the country, tourists, expats, and others... and it's boosting the country's economy, some how, I don't know I might be wrong here... I am just wondering!

I'm totally delighted,we are muslim country by constitution, i.e the holy Quran is the constitution of the country officially, in contrast to the US where there is no official religion for the country i.e Secular. regarding the christian or jewish communities it's better to provide specific retail stores for them. our libyan economy won't improve by importing such commodities, it's better to export our dates, grape, and orange.
Tourists won't come to libya for christmas trees, they would come to enjoy our desert and the sun they lack, plus we are not malta after all, etc.

By the way, Loud cheers for the new blogger " mysoon" .

hi,

my comment here is late unfortunately, nearly april 07, but the subject is always fresh and feel like saying something, if you don’t mind

you said “ Well I am not saying that we should celebrate the new year or Christmas or whatever, but there are lots of Christians in the country, tourists, expats, and others... and it's boosting the country's economy, some how, I don't know I might be wrong here... I am just wondering!”

my opinion:

we, the moslem countries, don’t show any respect or tolerance to non-moslems who live among us

but when we are living abroad, and I mean we as moslem people; a minority, we expect these christian countries to be – not only tolerant of our way of living – but also expect to be allowed to break their laws and not get penalised
In the western world if a person mistreats an animal; a cat or dog for example, you could be warned and fined – it is just the way they live; their countries; their laws

But when 3eed elkbeer comes, and we want to do our own thing ( slaughter a sheep for eg), we celebrate the event while not showing any respect to their laws

In short: we as moslems live in the dark age – it doesn’t matter where we are; whether we are in north africa or in New York – wherever we are, we always bring with us our dark world

( we still live in a cave – don’t let the BMW or the satellite dish fool you – we live in the cave and we love the cave )
